Hotels, Transfers, and the Three-Tier Soft-Food Protocol, For French Patients in Hyderabad

From the Doctor's Desk ,Stunning Dentistry

The hotel block

Stunning Dentistry has partner-block relationships with eight Hyderabad hotels ranging from five-star international to well-regarded four-star business. French patients book from this list; the coordinator handles reservations, reduced partner rates, and any special requests. All eight hotels are within 15–28 minutes of our clinical complex in Banjara Hills.

What your SD landed-cost quote includes: 17 nights at tier-1 equivalent (€148/night) is built into our standard quote. If you choose a tier-2 hotel, the saving (typically €700–€1,050 across the full stay) is rebated to you. If you upgrade to a suite or extend your stay for tourism, the difference is on your invoice.

Breakfast. All partner hotels include a full buffet breakfast. Vegetarian options are abundant. For French patients on the early soft-food protocol, every hotel's kitchen accommodates soft-food orders (potages, œufs brouillés, yaourt nature, compote de fruits) at no extra cost; your coordinator emails the kitchen the protocol before you arrive.

Airport transfer protocol

Arrival (Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, HYD)

Your chauffeur-driven car is at the airport before your flight lands. The driver's name, photograph, and mobile number are sent to you by your coordinator 72 hours before departure, with a second confirmation the morning of your flight.

1. You collect bags at carousel, pass through customs (green channel if you have nothing to declare; usually 3–5 minutes for medical-tourism patients with prescription medications).

2. You exit through the international arrivals gate on the ground level.

3. The driver is stationed inside the arrivals lounge holding a name board with your surname.

4. He takes your bags and walks you to the car, which is parked in the designated short-stay lot.

5. Journey to Banjara Hills partner hotels: 35–50 minutes depending on traffic. Journey to HITEC City partner hotels: 25–40 minutes.

6. Bottled water, a cold towel, and a charging cable for your phone are in the car.

7. The driver will check if you want a brief stop en route (a pharmacy, an ATM, a supermarket for snacks) and accommodate if clinically reasonable.

The car is typically a Toyota Camry or Toyota Innova Crysta with a trained English-speaking chauffeur. For larger parties (3+ passengers with luggage), a Toyota Innova Crysta is the default. For patients travelling solo with minimal luggage, the Camry is more common.

Departure

The day before your return flight, the coordinator reconfirms the pickup time. The driver collects you from the hotel 4 hours before international flight departure, or 3 hours for domestic connections. He escorts you into departures, helps with check-in if needed, and waits outside security until your coordinator confirms you are through.

Mid-stay transfers

Every scheduled clinic appointment, every planned restaurant outing, and every tourism day during your stay is covered by chauffeur-driven car included in your SD landed cost. For spontaneous outings (a shopping trip, a dinner at a friend's hotel), the coordinator arranges a car within 20 minutes of your request.

Airport transfer protocol

The three-tier soft-food protocol

The post-surgical period requires careful attention to what you eat. Aggressive chewing in the first weeks risks dislodging provisionals or disturbing grafted bone; anything too hard or too crunchy can fracture a provisional. We have built a three-tier progression map that French patients find intuitive because it maps to French meal structures.

What works well (and is available in the hotels and clinic meal service):

  • Velouté de légumes (carotte, potiron, petits pois, champignons).
  • Soupe à l'oignon gratinée passée sans croûte.
  • Purée de pommes de terre bien mousseuse, purée de panais, purée de céleri.
  • Œufs brouillés tendres, omelette baveuse.
  • Poisson blanc vapeur (cabillaud, merlan) émietté très fin.
  • Yaourt nature, fromage blanc, petit-suisse.

What to avoid absolutely in Tier A:

  • Toute pain à croûte (baguette, pain de campagne, pain aux noix).
  • Viande en morceaux (steak, côtelette, gigot d'agneau).
  • Fruits crus à peau (pomme entière, poire entière).
  • Noix, graines, chips, biscuits secs, crackers.
  • Légumes crus croquants (carottes crues, concombre, céleri branche).

Tier B, Days 11–30 (solides mous)

Welcomed back:

Still to avoid:

Most foods return to the menu. Specific attention remains on:

  • Avoid dense crusty breads, baguette tradition à la croûte épaisse, pain de campagne au levain dense. The crust can fracture a provisional even late in integration.
  • Avoid chewing nuts whole on implant sites until after final bridge fitting. Almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts are fine chopped or in pastry; avoid eating them by the handful.
  • Avoid ice chewing for the lifetime of the zirconia bridge. Chewing ice is the single most common cause of zirconia micro-fractures we see in warranty claims.
  • Avoid dry-cured meats on the implant side for 60 days (saucisson sec, jambon de Bayonne en bouchées épaisses).
  • Coffee and tea are fine but limit staining drinks for the first 30 days (strong black tea, red wine, beetroot juice) as the provisional PMMA picks up surface stains more readily than the final zirconia.

Tier D, From day 91 (full diet)

Everything is back on the menu. The zirconia bridge handles normal French mealtime reality, steak, baguette fresh from the boulangerie, noix, olives, croquant de pommes, with no restriction beyond the permanent no-ice-chewing rule. We have patients at year 7+ post-treatment who have returned to full French gastronomy including the occasional pintade farcie, gigot aux flageolets, and tarte aux pommes with the crust on.

The three-tier soft-food protocol

Restaurant guide for patients

Hyderabad has excellent restaurants at every price point. A short list we share with French patients:

  • Jewel of Nizam (Taj Krishna, Banjara Hills), traditional Hyderabadi cuisine, good for patients on Tier B who want to try a soft biryani.
  • Firdaus (Taj Krishna), classical Mughlai; kitchen accommodates soft-food requests.
  • Paradise Biryani (Secunderabad), the famous Hyderabad biryani institution; we advise Tier C+ only because the rice requires some chewing.
  • Le Bistro (Banjara Hills), French-ish bistro with soupes, risottos, poisson; favourite of French patients on Tier A and Tier B.
  • Olive Bistro (Banjara Hills), European, Italian, Mediterranean; wide soft-food menu.
  • Pot of Curry (Banjara Hills), refined modern Indian, all courses can be made softer on request.

The coordinator will book any of these for you and coordinate the pre-visit note to the kitchen if you are still in Tier A or Tier B.

Type-C and Type-D plug adapter

A practical note often forgotten until arrival: India uses Type C (Europlug, same as France, good news) and Type D (three round pins, British colonial legacy). French Type E plugs with the earth pin fit into Type C sockets and work. Your French charger for a laptop, phone, or camera works directly in Hyderabad. You do not need an adapter for standard French electronics unless you are bringing an appliance with a large earthed plug (French hair dryer, French iron), in which case a cheap Type C-to-Type D adapter from a French electronics shop (€3–€6 at Darty, Boulanger, or the airport) handles it.

Voltage in India is 230V 50Hz, the same as France. Your French-bought electronics run without any voltage converter.
